We offer a wide range of programs and services to meet the needs of both pets and pet owners in our community.
We provide programs, information, and resources to assist in their journey. We also help by raising awareness through public outreach and media.
Our main focus is on finding forever homes for those homeless pets that come into our rescue.
Spay & Neuter Program
HSYC is dedicated to stopping the over population of canines & felines in our community. So often people cannot afford to have this service done and HSYC is committed to helping. This Low Cost Program is subsidized solely by the HSYC, your local no kill independent non-profit.

(Please note that our Low Cost Clinic provides this service for owner pets only. If you have a feral cat that needs to be fixed, please contact either Snipwell at 803-228-4208, Healthy Pets at 803-327-7387, or your nearest Stand For Animals Clinic for more information.)
We do everything we can to encourage families to keep pets in their homes. Sometimes, this is not possible. We accept pet surrenders on a case-by-case basis dependent upon the situation and availability of space with in the rescue.
When pets are found in the community, we assist by scanning for microchips and checking rabies registrations. When space allows, we hold strays for the required 5 days prior to providing any treatment (unless it's a medical emergency) or processing the pet for potential adoption.
