Getting Started
We are so excited that you are interested in joining our Volunteer team at the Humane Society of York County (HSYC).
Follow the steps below to start the journey;
1. Pay the Volunteer Orientation Fee of $25.00 administrative fee (includes your volunteer tee shirt)
2. Set up a profile (you must be a minimum of 18 years old)
3. Email our Volunteer Committee at volunteer@humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org to sign up for an Orientation session at the rescue
New Volunteer Orientation
- We offer two new volunteer orientation sessions per month

Volunteer Requirements
- All Volunteers must be 18 or order
- Wear HSYC Volunteer Shirt at all times
- Comply with all safety protocols and volunteer rules at all times

There are so many wonderful ways to volunteer at our rescue. For safety and consistency, animal handling roles require a minimum volunteer time commitment of 6 hours each month. If animal handling doesn't fit your schedule, we have lots of other ways for you to help out.
